Here are some of the benefits you may experience during and after a Sound Healing.
Sound healing and Sound therapy have an array of benefits, and it can be difficult to put into words the magic that occurs during a group or private sound session.
Crystal sound healing, often using crystal singing bowls, offers several potential benefits for mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Here are some of the most commonly reported benefits:
Deep Relaxation and Stress Reduction
The sound frequencies produced by crystal bowls help to slow down brainwave activity, promoting a state of deep relaxation. This can reduce stress, anxiety, and tension, creating a sense of calm.
Improved Sleep Quality
By calming the nervous system, crystal sound healing may enhance sleep quality, making it easier to fall asleep and experience deeper, more restful sleep.
Enhanced Mental Clarity and Focus
The meditative effect of crystal sounds can promote mental clarity, reducing mental “chatter” and allowing for improved focus and concentration.
Emotional Release and Healing
The vibrations from crystal bowls can access and release stored emotional blockages, helping participants process and release feelings, which may aid emotional healing.
Pain Relief and Physical Relaxation
Sound healing may reduce perceptions of physical pain and discomfort. The vibrations can release tension in the body, providing a sensation of physical relief and comfort.
Chakra Balancing and Energy Alignment
Many practitioners believe that crystal sound healing can balance the body's energy centres (chakras), aligning and harmonizing energy for improved overall well-being.
Improved Meditation and Mindfulness
The soothing, repetitive tones of crystal bowls make it easier to enter a meditative state, promoting mindfulness and a deeper connection with the present moment.
Enhanced Self-Awareness and Spiritual Connection
For some, crystal sound healing provides a pathway to greater self-awareness, spiritual growth, and a sense of connectedness to something larger than themselves.
Enhanced Creativity and Problem-Solving
By quieting the mind and reducing stress, crystal sound healing may also lead to enhanced creativity and open up new perspectives, which can support problem-solving and creative expression.

This sound healing session is not for you if:
While sound healing is generally safe, some groups of people may want to avoid it or seek guidance from a healthcare provider before participating. Here are some considerations:
Individuals with Sound Sensitivity or Auditory Conditions
People with tinnitus, hyperacusis (increased sensitivity to sound), or other auditory sensitivities may find certain frequencies or volumes uncomfortable or even triggering. It’s best to use lower volumes, let the practitioner know, or avoid sound healing if it's too intense.
Those with Epilepsy or Seizure Disorders
Certain sound frequencies and vibrations can potentially trigger seizures in individuals with epilepsy. If you have a history of seizures, consult a healthcare provider before trying sound healing, or discuss it with Lianne via Instagram DM’s.
Individuals with Severe Mental Health Conditions
Sound healing may evoke intense emotional releases, which could be overwhelming for individuals dealing with conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or severe depression, especially if unaccompanied by licensed mental health support. They should consult a therapist or mental health professional before participating.
Pregnant Individuals (Especially in the First Trimester)
While there’s no conclusive evidence that sound healing is harmful to pregnant individuals, some practitioners recommend caution during pregnancy, particularly in the first trimester, when the fetus is most vulnerable. Gentle sound healing can sometimes be appropriate but always consult a healthcare provider first.
People with Pacemakers or Implanted Medical Devices
Certain frequencies and vibrations might interfere with electronic implants, including pacemakers. Those with such devices should speak to a healthcare provider before participating in sound healing.
Individuals with Cardiovascular Concerns
Vibrational therapy can sometimes increase blood flow or heart rate, which could be challenging for those with cardiovascular issues. These individuals should consult a healthcare provider to ensure that sound healing is safe for them.
SOUND Contraindications Policy
Sound baths are generally safe, gentle, and deeply relaxing for most people. However, they may not be suitable for everyone.
Please read the following before booking.
Sound baths are not recommended if you:Have a pacemaker or other implanted medical device (vibrations may interfere).
Experience sound-induced epilepsy or seizures.
Are in the first trimester of pregnancy.
Have a serious mental health condition (such as psychosis or untreated trauma) unless under professional guidance.
Have recently undergone major surgery or have unstable medical conditions.
Additional notes:If you have any hearing sensitivities or tinnitus, and it is your first time attending a sound bath, I would recommend that you do not position yourself close to the bowls, eg be further away from the instruments. Please remove hearing aids.
Always listen to your body; if you feel uncomfortable at any point during the session, you are free to sit up, make yourself more comfortable or indeed leave quietly.
By attending a sound bath with Alison Stockton, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these contraindications and that your participation is at your own discretion.
People with PTSD or Trauma History
Sound healing can sometimes bring up emotional or traumatic memories, which might be distressing for those with unresolved trauma or PTSD. If you’re in trauma recovery, it’s best to work with a practitioner who is trauma-informed or check with your therapist before joining a session. Alison is trauma-informed; however she may not be YOUR trauma-informed support please therefore ask your therapist/ practitioner for guideance
For those with these conditions and who have not experienced a sound healing session before. If you are concerned, it would be in your own best interest to not attend this session as no personal adjustments can be offered in a group experience.
Communicating any specific concerns with the sound healing practitioner will help ensure a helpful, beneficial experience for you. contact Alison by email at alison@alisonstockton.com
